Thanks for your interest in the Perpetual Plastic Project. On this page you can find more information about the installation, the extension options that are available, the types of plastic that can be recycled with the installation and on the bottom of this page is a contact form if you are interested to book the Perpetual Plastic Project.
We currently have 2 options available for event installations:
PPP 2 (full-size)
The original full-size PPP installation (PPP1) was redesigned in May 2014 when it was taken to the Fabcon 3D faire in Germany, the Trieste mini Makerfaire and the Geneva Business School on a week-long Eurotrip by 2 of the PPP founders. It is designed to be mobile and easy to set-up while still being modular and tough enough to host a large number of visitors.
The full-size installation features a washer/dryer, two shredders, one extruder and three 3D-printers. This does not mean that it is a true production facility. People drive the machines which makes it more like a craft and also more fun and educational.
OPTION # 1 custom ring.
We can put your logo on our standard ring design. A ring takes about 3-5 minutes to print and we can print different sizes. (+150 Euro)
OPTION # 2 custom design.
We can think of something else to print that is more fitting to the occasion. In order to guarantee a certain amount of products we are able to print items before the event. This requires a bespoke price.
Remember the 3d-printer rule: Something that has twice the weight (amount of material) takes twice the time to print!
OPTION # 3 Doodle 3D
Doodle 3D is a fun app that lets you draw a sketch and extrude it upwards in the 3rd dimension. Now anyone can design and 3d-print (but kids seem to like it the most).
OPTION # 4 Presentation
If your event has a programme in which you would like us to tell something more to the public about the project, circulair economy or 3D-printing, we can prepare a presentation.
PPP mini 2
The PPP mini was re-invented in order to be even more mobile and flexible then the first. The cases are designed to be able to taken on airplanes as oversized luggage and can also be easily transported by air freight. The premiere of the PPP mini will be at the ITU in Doha, Qatar.
The PPP mini features just 1 3D-printer, a shredder and an extruder that are used to show the process from plastic waste to a 3d-printed product. It is smaller in size and capacity then the full-size PPP but therefore also more flexible.
What plastics can be used in the installation?
There are thousands of types of plastic. Unfortunately we can not use all types for 3D-printing. Some because of the material properties, other because of safety reasons. The plastic types in the graph below are the ones that we have successfully recycled in the PPP installation before. If you have another type which is not on the list or if you do not know what plastics to use, please contact us for more information.
*All prices are excluding VAT (21%) and excluding transport costs. Bespoke price for multiple days is possible. An estimate of the transport costs will be calculated after request.
